Tariq Munir

Our story

Practitioner-led advisory.

Finspyr was founded in 2023 by Tariq Munir. Before that, he spent two decades leading finance and transformation at Fortune 500 and Big 4 consulting. Again and again, he saw the same pattern: big technology bets, small returns, because the process and the people never changed.

He wrote the best-selling Reimagine Finance (Wiley) to show leaders a better way, and founded Finspyr to do it in practice. Today he advises boards and executive teams, speaks on stages from Barcelona to Singapore, trains senior leaders on AI transformation, is a LinkedIn Learning instructor, and Top Voice.

Mission

Turn AI ambition into measurable value.

We identify and address business need and apply technology only where it earns its place, while staying 100% vendor- and tool-agnostic.

Vision

Build enterprises where AI makes people more valuable, not less.

Book Tariq

One method, from first question to working change.

Advisory and delivery are scoped and priced separately, so every recommendation stays independent of any vendor or build.

Recent work, in numbers and in clients' own words.

Revenue analytics

From gut-feel forecasting to a board-ready AI investment case.

Challenge.
Revenue forecasts ran on spreadsheets and judgement, just as an ERP transition began.
What we did.
Mapped forecasting and data end to end, compared build and buy options, and sized the revenue upside.
Outcome.
A phased go/no-go roadmap with cost, effort and risk, sequenced to the ERP program.

$1m+

in cost and productivity initiatives identified

Operating model redesign

From scattered pain points to a new operating design.

Challenge.
Proposals, client reporting and knowledge search were eating senior time in every team.
What we did.
Ran a 12-week strategic deep dive, identified where time and value were lost, and redesigned how work flows across teams.
Outcome.
A new operating design and a 12-month roadmap, with the first automation live in week four.

12-month

operating design and roadmap, built on insight from every function

Technology vendor evaluation

Choosing a data platform on evidence, not vendor pitches.

Challenge.
Data sat across field, operations and finance systems, and every vendor offered a different platform answer.
What we did.
Defined the data products and resulting architecture the business needed first, then evaluated vendors against them, independently.
Outcome.
A data product strategy and a vendor selection and due diligence process the leadership team could defend.

4 weeks

from RFP to independent evaluation of vendor capabilities

AI-powered process excellence

Finding the waste in order to cash, in one week.

Challenge.
Order to cash ran across several systems and teams, and nobody could see where orders actually stalled.
What we did.
Ran AI-powered process mining on system event data to map the real path of every order, end to end.
Outcome.
Every source of waste located and ranked, so the fixes could start on evidence rather than opinion.

30%

process waste identified within one week
